Meet Dr. Michelle Ko

Dr. Michelle Ko was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She earned her DDS with highest honor at Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan, there she received several Presidential Awards and the Best Intern’s Award from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for her outstanding didactic and clinical performances. In addition, she was inducted into the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor society.

After practicing for 3 years as a general dentist in Taiwan, she followed her passion to learn more about periodontics by attending Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. There she earned her Masters and Certificate in Periodontics.

Dr. Ko has practiced as a periodontist for the past 12 years, and practices with a belief that a healthy periodontium is the foundation of dentistry as well as systemic health. Dr. Michelle Ko is also an affiliate assistant professor at University of Washington, and a board certified Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology. At UW, she enjoys teaching and sharing her clinical knowledge with her students. In her private office, Dr. Ko enjoys providing the highest quality of care to her patients. Dr. Michelle Ko performs not only the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease but also oral esthetic surgery, bone regeneration/augmentation, sinus floor lifting, and implant dentistry.

She is committed to taking the time to listen to the needs and concerns of her patients and is passionate to help them smile confidently again.

In her free time, Dr. Ko enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Alex, and their fur-baby, Charlie, and exploring all that great northwest offers. You can find her paddle boarding, hiking and snowboarding.
